Meet Our Endodontist
Milton L. Davenport, III D.M.D.
Dr. Davenport was born and raised in the south suburbs of Chicago and graduated with honors from Thornton Township High School. He decided very early on that he wanted to pursue a career in dentistry but still cultivated many of his other interests, the most important of which was music. Dr. Davenport attended Augustana College in Rock Island, IL on a music scholarship where he focused his musical talents primarily on jazz saxophone. He was also the recipient of both the Presidential and Founders Scholarship. While dividing his time between music and science, he majored in Biology with a minor in Biochemistry.
After graduating Summa Cum Laude, Dr. Davenport attended Harvard School of Dental Medicine. While at Harvard, Dr. Davenport took on several leadership roles in the ADA and its student organizations. His research interests were in autoimmune diseases, such as lupus and multiple sclerosis, and its impact on oral health. Dr. Davenport also published several articles for the American Student Dental Association. After graduating from Harvard, Dr. Davenport completed a residency in endodontics at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Dr. Davenport remains at UIC as an Associate Clinical Professor in the department of endodontics, where he teaches both surgical and non-surgical endodontics. He is a member of the American Dental Association, Illinios State Dental Society, Chicago Dental Society, American Association of Endodontists, Edgar D. Coolidge Endodontic Study Club, and Illinios Association of Endodontist. With patience and genuine kindness Dr. Davenport can treat even the most fearful dental patient.
William Nudera D.D.S., M.S.
Diplomate, American Board of Endodontics
Dr. William Nudera earned a DDS from the University of Illinois at Chicago, College of
Dentistry in 1999. Upon graduation, he served in the United States Air Force Dental Corps where
he completed a one year AEGD residency program. During his time of service, Dr. Nudera
received a National Defense Service Medal for his involvement in “Operation Enduring
Freedom” and was awarded the title of Air Force Dental Office of the Year in 2002. Following
his service, Dr. Nudera returned to Chicago where he continued to practice general dentistry
while pursuing an education in Endodontics at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Dr. Nudera
completed his Endodontic training in 2005 earning his Endodontic specialty certificate as well as
a Masters Degree in Oral Sciences.
Dr. Nudera is a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics. He has several
national and international publications including multiple scientific research contributions to the
Journal of Endodontics and a chapter in the endodontics textbook 3D Imaging in Endodontics. Dr. Nudera speaks nationally and internationally on a variety of Endodontic topics.
Dr. Nudera currently holds a faculty position in the Department of Endodontics at the University
of Illinois at Chicago, College of Dentistry.
Dr. Nudera is a member of the A.B.E. College of Diplomates, American Association of
Alayna Corden D.M.D., M.S.
Dr. Alayna Corden was born in the suburbs of Detroit, MI before moving to Chicago in high school. She continued her education at Northwestern University where she received her Bachelors of Science degree in Biology with a minor in Spanish. Dr. Corden went on to attend Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston, MA where she discovered her passion for endodontics. While at Tufts University, Dr. Corden was awarded the NIDCR summer dental student award enabling her to conduct research on Sjogrens Sydrome at the NIH in Bethesda, MD. After graduating from Tufts, Dr. Corden completed her residency endodontics at the Medical University of South Carolina where she also received a Masters of Science in Dentistry degree for her research on different obturation techniques. Following residency, Dr. Corden worked in private practice in the southwest suburbs of Chicago prior to joining the team at Advanced Endodontics. Dr. Corden served on the Will County Dental Society board for two years and is a member of several organizations including: The Coolidge Study Club, The American Association of Endodontists, The American Dental Association, The Illinois Association of Endodontists, The Illinois Dental Society, and The Chicago Dental Society. As a board eligible practitioner, she is currently pursuing endodontics board certification. Dr. Corden’s practice philosophy focuses on thorough explanation of the process and addressing all questions and concerns relating to treatment so that each patient feels at-ease and comfortable during each visit.
